Our Projects

Project Managing over 70 Bridge, Highway Structures and Traffic Projects in Oxford (£7m)

127 Joint Venture Limited are currently Project Managing over 70 Structures and Civil Engineering Schemes in Oxfordshire working in collaboration with the County Council and their Contractor, valued at over £7million worth of fees.

Our main achievement has been to reduce the budget deficit from over £500,000 over a two-year period. This has been achieved by preparing detailed spreadsheets enabling all the individual tasks to be tracked over the lifetime of the project which is managed in ASTA.

The largest project is the Kennington Railway Bridge Safeguarding Scheme which involves introducing additional props to the east and west piers which are located near a railway and stream. Railway possessions were obtained to undertake the work which was completed under the structure. We have been project managing this scheme for over 2 years and we are currently on phase 5 of the works which involves high level strengthening and monitoring of the bridge. The bridge deck will eventually be replaced.

Bruce Street Bridges and Newcombe Drive Improvement Scheme

Bruce Street Bridges and Newcombe Drive Improvement Scheme

This was a £5m project involving changing 4 mini-roundabouts into a traffic signal-controlled intersection. The Great Western Way is one of the busiest roads in Swindon with over 20,000 vehicles per day. The new scheme helped reduce flooding and improve capacity at the intersection.

Airdri, Oakfield Estate Water Supply and Drainage Design

127 Consultancies Limited were commissioned to carry out the design of a new water supply and drainage design for the redevelopment of an existing disused shell warehouse. New drainage and water supply services were required from the existing development into the new building.

127 Consultancies Limited project managed the water supply and drainage design which were carried out by our joint venture partners.

Ian Gittens (Director 127 Joint Venture Limited) oversaw the preliminary and detailed design of the Transport Network Reconstruction Program for route 26A in Queensland. The purpose of the scheme was to restore the road infrastructure that was damaged during several major natural disasters.

Ian Gittens project managed a team of 23 Engineers working on the project. The scheme was completed on-time and within budget.

Yeppen South Project, Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia

The Yeppen South project provided a new elevated 2.8km crossing of the Bruce Highway across the Yeppen Floodplain to improve the flood immunity from Q15 to Q100 level from the Burnett Highway intersection to the Yeppen roundabout. The primary objective of the Yeppen South Project was to minimise isolation due to flooding of Rockhampton and Northern Queensland to the southern parts of the state during moderate and major flood events in the region.

Project Deliverables

High-level Bruce Highway, between Egan’s Hill and Rockhampton, constructed to Q100 flood immunity. This is approximately three metres higher than the existing bridges south of Rockhampton.

  • 64km bridge between the Burnett Highway Intersection and Yeppen Roundabout.
  • 540m bridge linking to the recently constructed Yeppen North bridge.
  • 800m of high-level embankment including transitions to the Yeppen roundabout (Capricorn Highway intersection).
  • Intersection upgrades to the Bruce Highway intersections with the Burnett Highway, Edith Street and Egan Street.
